About the Area

We love Norfolk, and our staff love it too. Working at a community trust means you get to see a lot more of this beautiful county. With views like these, what's not to love about that?

Norfolk is the fifth largest county in England and offers a perfect mix of countryside and city living. You’ll find history and heritage, beautiful villages, a national park (the infamous Norfolk Broads), forests, and 90 miles of stunning coastline. Norfolk people are welcoming and happy (that’s official – Norwich has been voted as the happiest place to work in the UK!).

Norwich is the county’s only city and was once the second largest city in England. Aside from a rich and fascinating history, modern day Norwich is lively and diverse with a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. It boasts a thriving coffee shop culture; a growing number of theatres; galleries, museums and cinemas; and an eclectic array of clubs and bars. Norwich is home to two universities: University of East Anglia and Norwich University of the Arts. In 2012, Norwich was one of the first cities in England to become a UNESCO City of Literature.

Norwich has two large shopping malls and a vibrant high street complimented by the diverse range of independent boutiques found within Norwich Lanes. Not to mention the unique and historic Norwich market – the largest open air market in England.

If city living isn’t for you, Norfolk is home to many attractive towns and villages. NCH&C has community hospitals in North Walsham, Dereham, Kelling and King’s Lynn, as well as medical and health centres in Cromer, Wymondham, Thorpe and Swaffham. We deliver services across more than 70 sites across the county, so working for us can mean you have access to a variety of locations to work from.

NCH&C provides services across the whole of Norfolk and we have teams based in many villages and towns across the county, in addition to our main community hospital site in Norwich.

Still to be convinced? Countless surveys and research rank Norfolk and Norwich as top places to live for safety and happiness. We’ve collated lots of sites for you to look at and see more of what our fabulous county has to offer.
